Name- Peter Loire, goes by Tabris
Nicknames- Tab, Tabby
Age- **
Gender- male
Race- Shape shifter [He can take the shape of anyone he has touched skin on skin, and has gotten very good at imitating voices as well. If he’s touched a person once, he can ‘remember’ them, and later shift into that form from memory]
Ship- The Auster
Position- Cabin Boy
Bounty- No bounty, he isn’t known to exist by most people
Appearance- It is no wonder that Tabris drew the attention of his captain. Raised as a gypsy, the impish man comes off as submissive in his every movement, even though he stands at 5’9. His face reflects his impish nature, with a slightly upturned nose, ears ever so slightly pointed at the tips, and eyes almost eternally squinted in mischief, it almost distracts from the masculinity in his other features. Slate grey hair, thin and wispy, has been forced to grow long, wrapped up in a hair tail that falls to his lower back, the loose bits pulled back and all but the bangs hidden under a lavender bandana. It’s only one of the things that have been taken out of his hands, left to the preferences of another. But his impish, cadmium red eyes still sparkle with an almost devilish mirth, even though he’s allowed himself to become a will less slave. Though willing, his pale olive body is still covered in scars. Naked, he’s speckled all over, from the well patched scars to intentional piercings, slashes and markings; signs of a dirty love.
As well, a long, thick and soft tail pokes out from the waistband of his pants, the black and white stripes resembling that of a ring tailed lemur, while two thick belts are wrapped around the tail, one closer to the base, as well as one near the tip. The tail is as dexterous as that of the animal it resembles, full and soft, often betraying Tabris’ darting emotions even better than his fluid gypsy body language and expressive, gleaming red eyes.
Built rather thin for a man his size, but far from gaunt, Tabris’ body shape reflects his physical abilities as an acrobat and contortionist. Flexible and thin, the gypsy’s body is resilient enough to withstand a lot of beating, but still flexible enough to worm his way out of most restraints.
Identifiable marks/scars- Most of his scars are hidden under his clothes, as they are not meant for others to see. His most easily identifiable mark would be the aforementioned tail, and scars along his wrists from multiple bindings.
Clothing- See picture for details.
Personality- Tabris is amoral. He does not think about what is right or wrong, he simply acts, and without a filter or care for what others reactions may be. This view of the world, one in which everything is open, a game, and where he can do whatever he wants, has labeled him as selfish, and often times cruel. But in his head, it’s not always his intention to do so. His life is simply a mischievous game, where what could start out as a friendly gesture could turn to a cruel attack, simply because the idea crossed his mind.
But while he doesn’t stop to think about the words or actions that he uses, he does bind himself very closely to people that he likes. He selfishly clings to them, loyal beyond reason, but also pulls back at them if he thinks that they may find others more interesting. In his mind, if he is close to someone else, there is no reason why they should not hold him in such high regard. And no reason why there should not be total forgiveness. He can let even the cruelest thing go by with a smile, after the hurt is gone. A trait that has served him well, considering his masochistic desire to be completely dominated by another. A glaring contradiction to his otherwise free natured, untamed personality, nothing brings him greater pleasure than submitting to the hands of another, no matter how cruel that hand may be.
History- Tabris had no ‘home’ to come from. His family could be best described as gypsies. Though he had a mother and a father, his entire upbringing happened at the hands of everyone in their community. He didn’t learn the normal relationships that were seen in most communities, but he was given a chance to travel through most of the islands, seeing many cities, and working as the rest of his family did. They were performers, and Tabris was quite skilled as a contortionist and acrobat, along with his ‘siblings’.
There wasn’t much else to his childhood, normal by alternate standards, eventually that grew to be a problem. There was more out there, and it wasn’t long before his curiosity got the better of him. So he left, with a few words and nothing else to sustain him. He had no plan or destination, and nothing to sustain himself with. Putting on performances helped a bit, but Tabris by no means was above doing some dirty work to get some food. But he was often cold, and hungry.
It could be called a good turn of fate, or just a change, but one of Tabris’ customers was not like the others. Picked up on a night that left him just glad to have somewhere to go, Tabris found his way onto the Auster. And he never found his way off of it again. Taken in and given the loose title of cabin boy, he became the untouchable lover of the captain. That title had benefits and disadvantages, but it’s been the only thing to keep him interested for so long.
Weapons- Tabris is not allowed to carry a weapon, though he improvises at times.
